Toteng Tanglao is a communications veteran with over 20 years of experience across journalism, public relations, and communications strategy in the Philippines.

His extensive career began in journalism, covering beats such as the Commission on Elections, various government departments, the Church, and the Senate for Malaya newspaper. This exposure gave him an intimate understanding of how different media platforms operate.

Toteng transitioned into corporate communications, serving as Corporate Communications Supervisor at Philex Mining Corporation and Corporate Services Officer II at the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). In these roles, he spearheaded communication programs, media relations, copywriting, creative development, and web initiatives.

During Toteng’s stint as Communications Director, Comm&Sense has won numerous Anvil, Quill, and Stevie awards for innovative PR campaigns. Comm&Sense is also consistently shortlisted as Agency of the Year by the Quill and Anvil Awards.

His expertise also extends to public relations and marketing. As Communications Director at Comm&Sense, he guided the agency’s shift into digital communications, introducing services like content marketing, social media, and new marketing metrics.

During this period, the agency won numerous Anvil, Quill, and Stevie awards for innovative PR campaigns. The Quill and Anvil Awards consistently shortlist Comm&Sense for Agency of the Year.

Tanglao has consulted for high-profile personalities like DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas, Senator Tessie Aquino Oreta, and Governor Margarita “Ting-Ting” Cojuangco, among others.

Toteng is now bringing a a stronger academic balance to his professional background as he is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.
